We started our journey in Pattaya by visiting its famous floating market. Unlike in Indonesia where floating markets are usually on the big river, Pattaya Floating Market is located on a lake. Covering an area of 100,000 sqm, it can be said the biggest of its kind in all of Thailand or even maybe the biggest in the world.

Pattaya Floating Market was founded with the concept of presenting cultures and traditions from four regions of Thailand: North, South, Central and North East. This concept shows the way of life of people from each of these regions, their daily activities and products of each region.

You will find everything here from beautiful paintings, wooden sculptures to handcrafts, Thai silks, clothing, souvenirs, and lots more. But we were here for the food. So many stalls selling authentic Thai cuisine. You literally can find every Thai cuisine here from traditional food, snacks, fruits, desserts, beverages, wines, to extreme ones like crocodile!

The best part is the floating vendors. Scattered in between the wooden houses and along the river are vendors selling from boats. With a lot of skills these vendors navigate, cook, serve drinks, offer snacks, and make small meals all at once from their boats.

For the ultimate floating market experience, you can use a man-powered boat to get around and discover the richness of the surrounding Thai architecture and riverside life. We skipped that because the boat queue was too long and we didn't have enough time just to queue, so i just took photos of it.
