Last Saturday night, my family and I had a very intimate dinner in a celebration of my brother, Kevin's birthday. Actually his birthday was on 4th September, but he wanted to celebrate it on Saturday by having a family dinner in a restaurant after stayed at home for a very long time.
It took a very long conversation and a lot of deliberation until we decided to have a dinner in SKYE Restaurant. We made a reservation at the very last hour, luckily we had a spot for 6 person on that crowded night.
SKYE is one of those hip bars and restaurants in Jakarta that exclusively opened on the 56th floor of Menara BCA (BCA tower). Located above the heart of downtown Jakarta, SKYE is of course the perfect place for those of you who crave for a dinner or maybe just to unwind with stunning city view.
There are two ways to access this place. The first one is through the Menara BCA directly and the second one is through lift access in Grand Indonesia Mall. In times of pandemics like now, SKYE remains open by following government health protocols. Before entering, our body temperature will be checked, lift is limited to 6 people, they also provide hand sanitizers at several corners. Most important, we used our masks all the time, we only opened when we were dining and taking photos.
SKYE has two main areas, an indoor area which is the restaurant area and an outdoor area with a bar and lounge. We arrived early, so we could spend some time in the outdoor lounge first before dinner. The outdoor lounge itself directly overlooks the panoramic view of Jakarta's skyscrapers. As you can see, yes, there's a pool. You can chill near the pool, but no, you can't swim in it!

The restaurant itself is known as an international restaurant that serves Southeast Asian, Japanese, Italian, and Mexican menus. The food with no doubt was incredible! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. We ordered a lot and didn't have any complain at all. I personally like their grilled pork ribs, it's juicy, tender, and flavorful, also it served with rice!
At the end of the night my mom already had prepared a surprise for my brother. Suddenly some staff came from the kitchen brought a cake with a candle while singing "Happy Birthday." I honestly was surprised too! hahaha. What a lovely night to remember!
