Last Lebaran holiday my family and I went to Adonara, East Nusa Tenggara to meet my grandma and relatives from dad's side. Beside that, we also went to some points of interest near where we stayed. Meko Island is the first place we visited. Meko Island is basically a small island consisting only of white sand lies in the middle of the ocean. When the tide rises, the island will sink and only a small dune appears. It is also surrounded by three active volcanoes. Somehow, it reminded me of Pirates of the Caribbean filming locations, lol.

Well, it was really difficult to reach there. First, we had to go through hill with a rocky road for about two hours from the place we stayed. Then we must crossed the ocean again to Meko Island by using a traditional motor boat. It was all worth it, though. All the hard, long, exhausted journey were paid off with a very beautiful panoramic view. The white sand so contrasted with the turquoise sea color. The sea was so crystal clear, we could see the corals at the bottom of the sea. The island itself was very quiet and peaceful. There was no one else when we were there, just us. Honestly, i felt like i was on a private island. What a beautiful place, an exquisite treasure that Indonesia has.

Barefoot to feel the warmth and softness of the sand.

Another village across from Meko Island where we parked our cars (i forget the name, sorry).
